How does one send a item over to the Philippines and know that the item gets there..?, I have sent items (mobile phones) over and they get naked on route...! the Post office tell you to mark whats in the box am sure someone is seeing them mark down as being "mobile phone" and then taking them.

Could try a small DHL box. Not cheap but will getget there in around 4 days. Best to have it delivered to a DHL centre for pickup iif possible as that will speed up the process. You will have to check what iitems are acceptable for the delivery.

We thought about sending a mobile phone but decided to send money so that the MIL could buy one out there. Easier that way, probably cheaper and more secure.

Definitely DHL as HaloHalo stated, I have literally had documents delivered to Manila in two days when taking my package to a DHL main depot.

And with DHL you can track the package online of course.

I have heard one or two stories here at BF where packages sent via the Royal Mail have gone astray and not made it to the recipient.

Wouldn't bother sending mobiles myself. Send money and let them buy locally. Or wait until you have a load of stuff and send a balikbayon box

Cheaper to buy cell phones over there, I bought a lenovo 4 inch screen for P 4000, and there was Samsung phones going for P 5000.
