Now, first of all for everybody who HAS ONE n the Philippines, whichever way he got it... don't use it !
I got a Restaurant and as all Restaurants we meticulously write down the details and claim the discounts given back from the BIR, meaning, we deduct it from the tax. if they then find, that the card is from a foreigner, meaning, a "non-ligit" person, they most certainly will get after him and it is a criminal offense to use one unauthorized. Just like using a false drivers license or passport.

Now, there seems to be a light upon the horizon for the elderly amongst us (not me, i am 51):
    -----------------------------------
    http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/05/24/11/parity-foreign-senior-citizens-eyed
MANILA, Philippines - Representatives Rufus and Maximo Rodriguez have filed House Bill 4369 seeking to grant foreign senior citizens residing in the Philippines the same benefits granted to Filipino senior citizens.

In their explanatory note, the Rodriguezes said this is in recognition of the contributions of the foreign senior citizens who have contributed to the economy of the country.

If approved, the bill would grant foreign nationals aged 60 above the same benefits given to Filipino senior citizens. This includes discounts in establishments.

They may avail of these benefits after they have secured a senior citizens’ ID issued by the Office of Senior Citizens’ Affairs of the place where the elderly is resident, or a Philippine Retirement Authority Identification Card, or an alien certficate of registration i-card or any other document that shows the alien is at least 60 years old and a resident of the Philippines.
    ----------------------------

I will follow up the proceeding, in the meantime the chances are good that the law passes, because there are millions of Filipinos which are FOREIGNERS, that is why the Rodriguez has filed it in the first place ! (Not for us "rich" expats)

If you want to do your part, write to Rodrigues and "like" the facebook link. In the submitted link of ABS and rodriguez Could help..:D
