Servicing a NHMFC loan from overseas

I'm sure I'm not in a unique position here, with my wife having a property in the Philippines with an outstanding NHMFC loan.

Due to various scenarios (... and I'll not bother you with the details), we're totally cheesed off with sending money from here to the Philippines to family members, who then have to physically go to the NHMFC office, and pay said amount.

So... is there a way to do this directly from the UK ?

I'd heard that PNB had a facility to do this ..... but calling NHMFC in Davao got me a negative answer to that.

They said that the only two options were to pay directly at a NHMFC office, or via Western Union (????!!!!???)

    This I cannot believe.

Surely if they have an online system (where you can check the status of your account ... monies received ... etc etc), then surely they must have an electronic remittance system in place ?

... or am I being far too optimistic ?

There must be an electronic system. The answer you got sounds like an answer from a middle manager who does not want to ask his/her boss. But Western Union direct to their account would at least be some improvement.

    You're probably right.
She (and her colleague) kept asking for the account number, and where the property is located.
"It's irrelevant where it's located, or the account details.... this is just a general enquiry about overseas remittances"
"But sir, we need to know in order to give you the best advice"
"Look, it's a simple question..... can you receive direct remittances from overseas.... do you accept payments via Filipino banks ?"
"Only directly at our offices... or via Western Union"
"Well, if you accept from WU, then logically you accept remittances from 3rd party banks"
"Sir, I have no information on that ....... can you give me your account number & location of the property"

    I really do dispair

    ** UPDATE **

If it's of help or use to others, yes, NHMFC do accept overseas remittances thru PNB Europe.
It's a pretty straightforward process, and I've tested it out, and got email confirmation from NHMFC.

I'll not post account details etc here, nor the other requirements .... but feel free to PM me if you're interested.
