Agree! Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, all those places I will always find awesome local food, Philippines I am generally disappointed.
Or the UK Thankfully Glasgow had some good Indian and Chinese Restaurants during my stay there in the early 80"s.
What about: Good old Sheperds Pie or Sausage beans and chips Full English Breakfast Rice pudding. Sticky toffee pudding and custard Apple crumble and custard. Sunday roast and all the trimmings Fish and chips Etc etc etc Some great British foods there.
And if cooked properly it can be excellent. None of this chicken boiled up with a jar of Tikka Masala "cook in sauce" thank you, a tandoor is essential for the best taste. Best served with a decent garlic chilli naan bread with freshly chopped garlic and red chillies.
Steak and Kidney Pudding Toad in the Hole Stew and Dumplings with pearl barley Braised Liver Sunday Roast Smoked Cod and Haddock baked
Spotted Dick and custard. Rhubarb pie and ice cream... Beef Wellington Some of the great home made british soups with fresh crusty roll and butter. Good old mince and tatties.
