My new company want to send me on a course in the new year up in Montrose. They are letting me take the missus and I'm planning on staying for a few days in Edinburgh before coming home. So where do you good folk think is a nice place to stay. I should mention that this is a week or so after our anniversary so I don't mind paying a little bit for a nice place.

Going to be expensive in Edinburgh Stu, I've only ever stayed there on business at a place at the west end of Princes Street.

On holiday in Edinburgh I would want to be somewhere near the city centre as it is just so spectacular.

I had a quick look http://www.thistle.com/en/hbs/room_availability_list.html The Thistle looks ok on the inside but a bit drab on the outside.

If I were you I would take a walk around the city centre using Google Street view as it might be nice to get somewhere that looks the part like a nice old classic Scottish building.

Start from round about here on Princes Street

We will be in Edinburgh in February staying in Best Western Kings Manor Hotel celebrating valentines and my birthday :) We pick that hotel coz it has spa, sauna, steam room and a pool, it will be a family holiday. And we've used our tesco clubcard vouchers which triple the vouchers for that hotel :)
