looking ahead a bit---is 1:17 & 18 aimed at couples who have lived together under the 2 year rule---but not intending to marry ? (also same sex couples )

is 1:19 aimed at couples who plan to marry and have lived together at some stage ?

I believe you lived with your young lady for a while whilst she was in the UK, I would have thought that this would strengthen your application.

According to the Immigration Rules and the EEA regulations, the term unmarried partner relationship is be defined as: "Two persons living together in a relationship akin to marriage for at least two years.

I believe you didn't live together for 2 years so I would fill the application out as if you had never lived together to save any confusion.

i intend to say--no--to q1:17---and yes to :19--and say we lived together for a few months. but the only evidence i have is her bank a/c--with me on it--at my address. and photos of us together. but that doesnt prove we lived together.

As you say, you do not have much evidence of living together for two months, why not keep it simple and say you have never lived together?

You have to have lived together for two years for it to have any positive bearing on the application.

reading the questions again-- i think 1:16 &17 is intended for couples applying under the 2 year rule--and need to prove they have been living together for that amount of time.
so in our case--the answer is--not applicable.

q 1:19--in our case the answer is--yes. : for 2 seperate periods of time. but there is no documented proof of it. i just hope it doesnt raise questions about her being with me during her visit visa.

Just go with what you feel is a safer bet, the more straight forward the application is the better, the last thing you want is the case officer having to think, that could prove dangerous :)

i think our problem now is going to be proving "ongoing devotion" ---- been over 18 months apart now.

I don't believe that will be a problem for you, you do have a very good reason why your application has been held up after all.

I'm sure you have your remittance slips, chat logs and the like to prove that the relationship has been sustaining over the eighteen month period where you have not been together.

And remember, there are a couple of empty pages in the application where you can explain the situation regarding the TB test and so on, just lay it on thick.

There is another way of course if you are really concerned, pop over to the Philippines and see her, surprise her :)
