What testing times these are . The wife has just had her spouse visa refused. The one and only ground was that I supposedly don’t meet financial requirements. The plus side, it only took 7 weeks on a standard application to get the decision ! This experience is showing me what a bunch of incompetent arseholes UKVI Sheffield and the Government are. I used a solicitor and ensured that everything was above and beyond correct. It goes to show that it makes no difference at all. It is obviously unfortunate for me, that I have 3 sources of income (2 pensions and 1 part time salary amounting to well over £30k). This must have proven too difficult for the moron case worker who only accounted for my part time salary and one pension, totally disregarding the other pension. They obviously take no notice of most of the documents submitted or they could have clearly seen on the 12 months bank statements that there were 3 x deposits every months. Indeed if they calculated my bank statement deposits they would have seen a NET amount of well in excess of the minimum amount required ! so now we have to endure an extended period of separation and anxiety while we go through the administrative appeal tribunal. My solicitor assures me that it will take weeks, not months as it is an obvious mistake and will be noticed immediately by the tribunal. I’m sorry but I just don’t have any faith any more, these people can do what they like

how frustrating. I fully understand your comments about the ukvi staff--we met a few prize examples at ukvi croyden when my ( new) wife applied for her first FLR same day decision in person. I doubt if half the staff could speak or understand english.
Oh, you have confirmed exactly what I have been thinking. it is hard to hide the anger. I live less than 3 miles from the barge that is going to house 500 illegals. They will be there for quite some time while their papers are dealt with. All the time getting free accommodation on this newly refurbished floating hotel, free food and water, free medical services. They are allowed to leave and explore the area, so naturally we give them a little spending money too. When the refusals for them start rolling in, it will be interesting to see how many disappear into the wilderness. meanwhile, UK nationals have to jump through hoops, one foot in diameter, set alight and aloft 50 feet above the ground, donate a kidney or two and except it.
I understand how you are both feeling, we to had our first application turned down for 2 reasons one of them being financial ie my funds were in the form of shares which I then had to turn into cash just to help meet the financial requirement, From what you have said it's pretty obvious that you meet the financial requirement, what is so annoying is that it's peoples lives that these government Jobsworth's are making decisions on, the least we all expect and should be given is a degree of competence from the people making the decision, after all we pay more than enough to keep these people in Jobs. my wifes son's settlement application was refused--on grounds of insufficient proof of sole responsibility---accompanied with a written lecture on what constitutes sole responsibility. How do these bureaucrets think a kid could survive without his mom supporting him ? i was seething.
