    Hi,

My name is Milette, I am going to visit my boyfriend this december. We are planning to get married by next year. We are just confused of what financial requirements does he needs to provide so he can get me. He is currently self employed and it's just since October 2014. Based on our research he should provide the following:
    (a) Evidence of the amount of tax payable, paid and unpaid for the last full financial year.-this is fine his last year tax was more than £20,000
    (b) The following documents for the last full financial year, or for the last two such years (where those documents show the necessary level of gross income as an average of those two years): are these the payment slips that he received as a franchisee?

Does he have to submit his bank accounts and how much should be the money in his account for he doesn't have that much money.

I hope someone could help me.

Welcome to the forum Milette, @Maharg should be able to help you with a list of documents you should submit if your chap is self employed.

I'm sure the pleasant fellow will be along soon to point you in the right direction :)

I can tell you that your chap does not need any money in his account, as long as he meets the financial requirement of £18,600 then everything is fine, no need to show savings.

He needs a full set of accounts, an accountant letter stating earnings from the last financial year, SA302 (I think it,s called that), invoices, business bank statements going back to the start of the last financial year, copy of tax return.

That's what comes to mind. They want a lot from you if self employed,

    Hi Maharg,

My boyfriend is not doing that big business. He was employed for 4 years by DPD as their delivery driver. Then in 2014 he converted into self employed but still with DPD with the same type of work. He doesn't have a business account, all he has is his personal bank statements where the company is depositing his earnings.

May I know all the requirements that we have to submit for spouse visa and how long will be the processing?

Thank you so much I really appreciate your support

    And another question...haha sorry!

Since he just started being self employed last Oct 2014. His 2014-2015 self employment tax only converes Nov 2014-April 2015. Since they stated that it should be the whole financial year, does it mean we should have to wait for his 2015-2016 tax before I can apply?

Even as a sole trader he will probably need to get it all I'm afraid. They will want accountant letters.

He has his accountants no problem with that.
He just want to make sure I can apply after the calendar year by april 2017.

He should nearly have done his 2015_2016 tax return by now anyway so I would suggest waiting.
