But to be honest the home office in Sheffield is a disgrace and need a total revamp. I don’t see how some thing like this is run so poorly.

Let’s get one thing straight I go by experience from them..

Not to mention the countless backlogs they have and there shameful communication they do not display to the public.

Yes I’m awaiting for my spouse visa. I’m on my 47th working for my wife visa and yes befor you even say I’m aware there is a 60 day time frame.

But also aware there failing to even keep up with there own time frame they’ve given. Check there site..

Maybe people wouldn’t be so pissed off they sent a simple email saying why there is a delay or even if they kept people in the loop of the whole visa situation instead of charging day light robbery through there email or call Center.

So yes it is a disgrace...

You have your view as does everyone!

As for sending e mails to explain backlogs this could turn in to a self defeating and more time consuming exercise.
As it has the potential to generate questions about questions.
Maybe I got lucky with my spouse visa application.
Hang on in there I am sure you will get the news you deserve soon.

I get a text whenever my doctors appointment is due, whenever my dental appointment is due. It is all automated. It takes no man hours.

It doesn’t hurt them to set up a system that tracks where said item is at what stage it is at.

    Not hard at all..

But they won’t cause them the amount of money they would loose from people emailing or calling in to find out where the application is at l..

How would a text saying " it' on a case workers desk" help you know that already

When do you know it’s on a case workers desk?

If there no communication from them to tell you that.. jeez

I would like to know for one simple reason peace of mind. It stressful knowing I don’t know where it is or what stage I’m at. That one decision has a huge impact on people’s life. Just knowing where you stand helps a lot..

May I ask have you done the spouse visa?

Why would they do that? This is a government entity. Like most other government processes of this nature they rarely set up systems to appease the good paying public, certainly one that keeps you in the loop to allay any anxieties foc. I’d go further, they probably would like you to be thankful for them providing the service especially when they decide that the outcome is a positive one.

In our case, we waited 60 days, give or take a day or two. We didn’t complain, absolutely no point. Put up or shut up would be their motto, Im sure. Anyhow, hang in there.

I didn’t get a chance to finish this. Called for dinner. :D

So at key stages an automated text could easily be set up. Not so much “it’s on my desk” as more along the lines of “we have assessed your case and are waiting on response from a or b party for confirmation”. Some thought would need to go into it. So that something more than a long long silence is set in place.

I do agree with Halo. The system is what it is and we have to bite on the bullet a bit, but on the other hand I do sympathise with those for whom the agony is being prolonged. I am sure the authorities can do a little bit towards making their fee paying applicants more comfortable during what can be a nail biting, heart wrenching period in the early stages of someone’s marriage or partnership.

I do question the audit bit. That depends on the slant and level of the audit if any.

If they have got their act together, all the tick boxes and associated content would be mapped out online. My tax return is a bit like that. Or at least my last few have been. Each section is segregated out and finalised at various levels and stages. All online. Differing levels of authorisation can be set until the final outcome is decided and rubber stamped, online.
A red x sits in the appropriate column or row until all is good for that element of the application whereupon that section is ticked off a greened up.

I am not so sure third party checks need take 60 working days.

I use a live online system to deal with complex document submissions. Communication with the “applicant” is integral. There is relatively inexpensive software around now that can do all this good stuff.

    Hope you enjoyed your dinner!

3rd party responses depend on what importance the 3rd party places on them.

Not sure what your tax returns has to do with a visa application nor do I see the point of your self promoting comment on integral customer relations unless the figures you communicate to are similar in numbers detail and complexity of visa applications.
All we need now is a comment from the good and the great who you kowtow to.

    No need for the impoliteness.

I just believe that it can be done. You obviously don’t. So we can agree to differ unless you want to be abusive?

Not sure where I am being impolite, if I had a desire to be abusive I would be and can be but it would be the first time on here!

I cannot see any point in entering into dialogue with you any further on this. May I wish you good luck with your next visa application.
