    Hey Guys,

I'm applying for a visitor visa for my gf to come over to the UK for 6 weeks. Everything on the application looks very straightforward. I'm aware of the documents required in the checklist such as a sponsor letter, bank statements and stuff.

Her finances are very stable. Has 2 bank accounts with money in them. Not just dumped in. One is linked to her debit account so is in the region of 20k and is for everyday use. She has another account that is used to pay for her house - an ongoing payment of 20k a month. Her fam pull together to make the monthly payment. There's about 40k in there. She has the necessary paperwork for the house under her name.

We've put her down as self employed - convenience store & eatery. It's not registered and I guess you can say not much we can show such as permits and stuff. How will this affect the application? I of course will be sponsoring the visit and will make it clear. We also have a view in the future to possibly get married so we've made clear we would never jeopardise our future by overstaying. Is the self employed part a very big deal or can we just strengthen everything else?

considering the visit visa is relatively cheap compared to other visas..its valid for 6 months multi-entry...its worth applying with what you have got and see what happens. if you get refused..you get the reason why, so if you can overcome the refusal you can apply again straight away.
    good luck.
