Hi guys, Well, I took the plunge and purchased a Starmobile Diamond D1 when I was in the Philippines. I must admit to being not so 'tech savvy' when it comes to smartphones but this one seems to do everything it says on the tin so to speak. Had a great Chinese buffet lunch in Manchester with Sean, our leader, and he seemed impressed with it too. I may stand to be corrected on this but, as I understand it is essentially a Chinese phone, but built in the Philippines with, I believe, a little help from Samsung. Al.
When I read the review on that mobile they said it was only being released in May. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on one when I get there cos it sounds a bargain.
A few years ago a mate who worked offshore showed me his new phone that he had bought off ebay. He said, look at this, it takes 2 sim cards. I hadn't seen one before. He said its great. This sim is for general use, friends and relatives and this second one is for the office, so if they ring me in my time off I know its them and I know to ignore them till the 2 weeks are up.
I know for fact that there are printed circuit board designers in the Phils and good ones at that (my mate ran a PCB design outsourcing business there) however I have my doubts that it would not be just a customised version of something like the Hero 9300 which is a Chinese phone. Those Chinese phones are incredibly well specified and well built.
There you go, that's what the dual sim is for LOL I have a dual sim phone because I don't want the company moaning that I'm using their phone to phone the Philippines and so on, also it saves hogging around two phones as many people do.

Cheers All. It's unlocked I'm guessing? Meaning you can put any sim in it? The sims are standard, micro or nano size? I didn't see the sim size on the spec.
