Hi John. My basic salary is 23000 and with the overtime takes it to around 30000.

My 6 months payslips will be around 15000 so this should suffice surely?

Sorry bigmac if I gave I a fright but it's just what I thought was needed myself the p60.

I wasn't issued one this year and according to my employers don't get one as I've switched departments.

Hope this doesn't come back to haunt me

    Yes. 6 x monthly payslips = £15000 is good.

There is a document that explains in detail what the requirements are:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...pendix_FM_Annex_1_7_Financial_Requirement.pdf

    Have a read of that.
    Section 5.1 and 5.2

I am sceptical about your employer not providing you with a P60, like I said, I changed employer in 2010 - 2011 and had one.

I would tend to agree with that, everyone should be issued a P60. Regarding the P60, it is not specifically asked for but the form says it can be one of the items submitted to help prove the requirement, I would say its a must if your financial situation is not clear.

Everything should be clear regarding the finances, you want to leave the UKVI with no doubt in their minds.

Yes. A kind of confirming bonus of evidence.

I may need to go in to the office to clarify this again.
I maybe should have worded this better.
I am with the same "group" and my bonuses and time served carry over but strictly speaking a different company within the group.
    Could that be the reason?
I left one company for another within the same group

I joined an entirely different and seperate company. No relation to one another whatsoever. With a 2 month gap in between.

Not sure if this is current:

"There is a legal obligation to provide a P60 in Reg 67, but the wording is :~

    67—

    (1) Before 1st June following the end of the tax year, an employer must give a certificate (Form P60) to every employee—

    (a) who was in the employer's employment on the last day of the tax year, and

    (b) from whose relevant payments the employer was required to deduct tax at any time during that tax year."

Certainly seems like I should have had one going by that John :/

I have the previous 4 years that's the annoying thing.

If they can give me a valid reason for not issuing one then I will get them to put it in writing accompanying my wage slips and employment letters

Yes. The problem is getting them to come up with one.

Think I'm going to stick to plan a and marry in the UK.
Seems likely that there is a lot of waiting about and potential pitfalls in marrying over there.
I would only have a fortnight window realistically and depending on circumstances hotel fees etc may bump up the overall cost considerably.

We did it in 2.5. It was a bit of a squeeze. A bit of typhoon dodging too.

    Here it is...

    "2. P60
Your P60 shows the tax you’ve paid on your salary in the tax year (6 April to 5 April).

If you’re working for your employer on 5 April they must give you a P60. They must provide this by 31 May, on paper or electronically.

You’ll need your P60 to prove how much tax you’ve paid on your salary, eg:

    • to claim back overpaid tax
    • to apply for tax credits
    • as proof of your income if you apply for a loan or a mortgage
Use HMRC’s tax checker if you think you might have paid too much tax."
