Hi everyone I have just signed up just now and asked myself why I have not done this ages ago. It is quite interesting to blog with other Filipinos about matters that affect us not only in the Philippines but also here in the UK. It is certainly one way of meeting friends. I have been away from the Philippines since 1982 and I would say "there is no place like home" up to now. Fate brought me here so I have to accept it and make the best of it. Marilen
Welcome to the forum Marilen I guess now with so many ways to communicate online there are also many ways to get to know fellow Filipinos as well. Most people think of Twitter or Facebook as a means to get to know people, but the beauty of internet forums is that you can keep back an element of privacy and only pass on your details to people you truly would like to meet in the real world. Behind this website there is a thriving community of people who get to know each other via various means, then becoming friends on Facebook and meeting up for a meal whenever possible.

You are right there Kuya.....there is a thriving community in cyber space waiting to be tapped for its full potential whether to meet friends, finding jobs, clarifications and answers, etc. It is just a case utilizing it to the maximum and finding time to do it.....make social networking work for you. There is a world of information within one's reach which could help in any way possible. One has just to be careful as there are also others whose intentions are malicious.
