Found this on a bloke's profile while playing scrabble on Facebook against him. Needless to say............ He was a Geordie.......
If I were you, I wouldn't call a person from Sunderland a "Geordie". As the picture indicated he/she will put you right in a split second. "we are Mackems, not Geordies"... http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/11826/why-are-people-from-sunderland-called-mackems
According to the presented evidence, it seems my wife is a 'Greek' I'm an 'Egyptian', and a good friend of mine is a Geordie (I think) She's from South Shields and sometimes I have no idea what she's talking about. Although, oddly, my wife seems to be able to follow. Actually, I've noticed my wife is pronouncing some words in Geordie speak. Yet other times she seem to be speaking in Ossie. Sometimes she'll tell me she's going shopping to-die (today)
