    Hello. :)

Can somebody tell me how safe is this place after dark ?
I know that some places are quite dangerous in night time and some provinces are very safe. So where I can place Taal volcano in this safety list ?
I am thinking about a trip to see the volcano in the February.
I want to go on a secret trail to see the lake inside volcano as well but, I like to do it on the evening.
I would like to hike on the volcano crater and see the sunset from there and after that go down to the lake and see the stars and the moon from the Lake inside volcano. After that I will go back to the hotel. Is it possible to do it ?
Is it safe in this area after dark ? Should I be afraid ? :)

I suppose it depends on the boat times to get to and from the island whether you can go there at night, I've passed by there a couple of times en route to coastal resorts.

Why would you like to go in the evening when its dark?

You'll be fine going on the trip to the centre of the volcano, but as for Tagatay well just read up on it, I am sure it will be safe enough if you are careful, there is nowhere that is really safe in the Philippines in the sense you mean.

If you take care Tagatay should be fine, the whole area is a weekend retreat for the rich and famous so it can't be that bad.

Don't know how easy it will be to come home after dark but sunset is going to be between 6pm and 7pm so you are talking about getting back after 8pm, I will ask my pal that has done this particular journey.

Because I like to walk after dark with my other half holding hands and sit somewhere under the tree and look at the moon and the stars.
It is romantic and lots of romantic conversations and topics will born there.
And as far as I know my tigress will like that too because I already know she love to hike in the mountains.
And it will be 14 of February ;)
My hotel resort will already give me the answer that it will be no problems with the boat, and if it will be any problems i know there is lots of private people with boats so I'm sure I can find someone :)

I am only worried for the safety of my lady. But if you said there's nothing to be worried than its OK. :)

My tigress is fluent in Tagalog and Cebuano so I think in the emergency situation I can knock to the doors of some local house and kindly ask if anybody will be so kind to take us back to the hotel for a good price. :)

In my experience the girlfriend will certainly know if there is anything to worry about, trust her instinct at the time, that's the best way to proceed.

She will not let anything happen to her tiger :D

Yes. I trust her and her instincts, but you know how it is. It's better to check the ground before and if there is anything not good you can always plan that day differently. Different place different time and everything. ;)
Specially that this will be quite important day for both of us. :)

When you say it will be specially important to you both, do you mean you will be going down on one knee and proposing to her? :)

No. I never like to do the things in the same way like everyone else do and like you can see it in most of the movies in TV.
I must say that I'm quite bit of individual guy.
But you are on the good track ;)

Have a look at taal lake yacht club, they run probably the safest trips on taal lake & also have fixed pricing & flexible trip timings. http://www.tlyc.com/the-tlyc-volcano-tour/
We find tagaytay generally quite safe, even after dark, just take the usual precautions.

I already looked at the TLYC but they told me that last boat must return at 5 pm so it's a little bit too early. Still the day time.

Sorry to hear TLYC couldnt help you out.
I am currently in the philippines & only 30 mins from tagaytay where I am sure we will be visiting a few more times before I leave so if there's anything else you need checking out then let me know.
It's a special place for us as we got married there.

Maybe if I spoke with them face to face they will agree with that. ;)
I try when I will be there. I'm sure everything will be OK and I will find something. :)

Its about 4k hike to crater rim and very steep in places, there are numerous fees and option to reach crater by pony ride (would recommend pony ride if not wanting to arrive drenched in sweat and tired).

As there is no lighting on trail an after dark night trail would be dangerous and suspect not possible.

Think best sunset view is on boat on lake, will not be visible whilst on Taal as trail is away from sunset.

I was there only a few days ago.

Crater is continually being monitored as it is still active (the crater is a lake, but gasses are being emitted from inside the crater rim).
One year a few hikers were killed due to sudden omission of poisonous gasses, then for a while treks were banned.
