The situation is this: Me and my daughter's TB test certificate expires on Nov. 30. We initially planned to apply for the visa around July/August but due some reasons we delayed it until this first week of October. I am worried that by the time that our documents reach the ECO, theres only few days or weeks left until our TB certificate expires. Some one from here also told me that if it's already expired on our intended date of travel they might refuse our application. So i contacted IOM if we can get another certificate before it expires. However, they told me that we can only do that 7 days before it expires. What do u think we should do best? Im thinking to just proceed with the application and just write an intended date of travel before nov 30. Then if granted visa, but the visa date starts beyond nov. 30, we will just get another certificate by that time. Do u think this is feasible? We are hoping to celebrate Christmas with my husband this year.
As I understand it you only need the TB Certificate for the VISA Application. You're not going to challenged at the airport or anything if you have a valid VISA but an expired TB certificate.
The staff from IOM said we should present the certificate at the airport at the day of the travel. So i think they need it to be still valid at that time.
Personally my wife carried with her the folder that she presented in manila of course with the scanning at Sheffield why would anyone have on arrival anything other than the visa and at best copies of documents that said UKBA will have on screen up to date information on the traveller
As I said in my other post, it might be, yes. If you feel like taking the chance then go ahead, but I would recommend that you apply with a valid tb certificate that is valid up to and including your proposed date of travel.
Staff of IOM called me today. According to them, as long the TB certificate is valid upon application, is wont affect the application.but the visa should be granted before november 30. Then if visa granted, they will extend the certificate for another 6 months and we should travel within that 6 months. If there's still no decision after the certificate expires, thats the time that we should renew the certificate. I think i can sleep better tonight. ☺️☺️☺️
