Hello everyone, i just read that tb certificate is valid for 6 months but mine is only hor 4 months. Tb certificate issued last july and it expired laSt november. Can i still go to uk with expired certificate which is only 4 months from the date they issued my certificate?
"Residents aged over 11 from certain countries applying for a visa to come to the UK for longer than 6 months need to get a certificate confirming that they are free from infectious Tuberculosis (TB) before applying for a visa" https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...ment_data/file/270197/sup-docs-settlement.pdf
I'm just wondering, well assuming IOM provided you a TB Screening certificate which is valid for only 4 months. It's supposed to be 6 months. Had mine in June and expired this month..
Tuberculosis tests for visa applicants 1. Overview You’ll need to have a tuberculosis (TB) test if you’re coming to the UK for more than 6 months and are resident in any of these listed countries. You’ll be given a chest x-ray to test for TB. If the result of the x-ray isn’t clear you may also be asked to give a sputum sample (phlegm coughed up from your lungs). If your test shows that you don’t have TB, you’ll be given a certificate which is valid for 6 months. Include this certificate with your UK visa application. Source: https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa
Thnks for all the replies, i called iom today they told me that the date start on the day of the xray which i had last May, and i undergone sputum exam which takez two months, after two months the test revealed negative, thats the date they issued my certificate which is july. So it means that they start the validity of the certificate on the the day of your medical? Thats weird!! They should start the validity on the day they issued the certificate
It should! The certificate does state 'issue date', it doesn't state 'application commenced'. You should have right to have it corrected.
I think it will be an expensive mistake to assume the test certificate is still valid. Not only will you waste money on a failed visa application but you will also waste time by not having another TB test. Of course, if you can try to get the expiry date amended but I suspect the six months applies from the date of the test, not the date of issue of the certificate.
I already have a visa, it was valid on the time of application. My worry is that, cdn i travel to ik with expired certificate
Since you already have a visa/ you submitted the TB screening prior to the validity date upon visa application, you will be alright. No worries about that.
I did not realise you already have the visa. As they issued the visa, that means they already accepted the TB test results so nothing to worry about.
Thanks for all the replies, im already here in uk. The immigration officer did not asked my tb certificate, they just asked few simple questions and thats it
With this concern, i don't know if UKBA knows it that issue date of TB clearance certificate commences on the day you had your X-ray and not on the day you was given clearance???? weird
We are resident in qatar since 2009. And planning to apply spouse visa. there's no UK TB Screening centre here. Can I go to any government clinic/hospital to get a tb test certificate?
