Many of us were once members of another forum relating to issues Filipino/British which has sometimes been called "the darkside" (with very good reason imo) because of it's blatant racism and xenophobia.

There is one extremely odious character.
He was/is the "Daily Mail" personified. Hence the thread title.

I detest the "Daily Mail". For me, it is the worst type of newspaper/online rag, as he is the worst online persona I have read previously.
The following link shows the similarities:

The Daily Mail is just a comic nowadays.

Did I see a little editing of your own story going on there Aposhark?

Agreed Mike. So, I was wondering, what's your favourite daily (not just Mike, but everyone?) For me it's the Telegraph - not least for the crossword.

(I could have started a poll on this but I don't know how to!)

    In my opinion, the Independent.

I don't buy or read a daily, Al.
I read the BBC news site, CNN, Reuters, Telegraph....things like that.
When I looked at the online Daily Mail I was put off by the gossip, rubbish stories and endless pics of what women were wearing for goodness sake.

The last daily newspaper I ever bought was the Glasgow Herald and that was so long ago I could not give you a date like Mike and Stu I am online news (plus occasional TV news) only.

I was a Sunday Times reader for years.

Every week without fail I would buy the Sunday Times when available, and read it over the next couple of days.
    • When I was in the UK,
    • Working in Luxembourg it was sold at the Gare, and a couple of newsagents.
    • Working in Warsaw it always arrived late afternoon at the Jan III Sobieski and cost about 5 quid.
The quality in Luxembourg was appalling, whole sections would be missing every weekend.

One particular week most of my favourite sections were missing and I sent them a very polite e-mail suggesting that they might look at improving their service.

I received a very rude, abrupt, and pompous reply stating that they were providing a service, and that I should be grateful for it.

That was well over ten years ago, I have never bought a Sunday Times since.

    Customer service at its worst.

No word of a lie - I was once advised by my regional manager that for a happier life, don't ever read the Daily Mail. It's full of sensationalist stuff about the end of the world, today it's asteroid, tomorrow it might be super volcanos, next week it might be flatulent Romanians (Actually perhaps I shouldn't say that because it might give them ideas for a story to run).

Really the Express is worse, but the difference is nobody reads that.

Know one thing though, it's hard to criticise Littlejohn. Picture the scenario, an audience of random passers by, a panel of left wing politicians. The subject: this weeks Littlejohn rant. The job of the politicians - to argue that Littlejohn is out of touch and wrong.
You would NEVER get this because the political types would know full well, they would end up looking really bad

I like most people here despise and detest the Mail, whist admiring the sheer cleverness of its journalism in a bad cause. I've just read down that rationalwiki item and its wonderful! Thanks!
