I was having a refreshing walk in town, just to get some exercise, and I get accosted by a couple of morons asking me to donate some money, any amount, for the poor in the Uk, so that such and such charity can deliver aid where it is most needed........ As her indoors wasn't present to give me a rollicking, I started to ask what did they know about poverty, and if they personally experienced it, and the prompt reply was that they didn't know of it first hand, or knew anybody in dire straits.... As a travelled person, I started to give them a couple of hints of what real poverty is, and where, more or less, can be witnessed first hand, as in the Uk, really, there is no such thing, due to various benefits that can be claimed, even by people totally unentitled to them.... I might as well having been speaking arabic, as there was no uptake on their parts... Probaly sixth formers trying to appease their conscience before Christmas... So, realizing that I wasn't really getting nowhere too soon, as it seemed that the light was on, but unfortunately nobody was home, I left with the message to watch youtube and search for pag pag .... I sincerely hope thay did, and some of their views about poverty are amended accordingly...
