Peter Tatchell has produced a documentory for Channel 4 about the Pope and why he is against his current visit to the UK. Interesting, and for about a third of the program he visits The Philippines to look at life as well as various interviews.

You can watch it here on 4OD.

I watched parts of it and found Tatchell's inteviewing techniques rather biased and disturbing, as he seemed to attack the interviewees personal beliefs and belittling them for being catholics.
The fact that the catholic religion will not, no matter what, recognize but condemn homosexuals has been sticking in his throat forever. Tit for tat...chell I suppose:D

I do see that the Church's stranglehold in Philly encompasses the normal boundaries of normal life, and it can be felt everywhere, but it wasn't the right way to go on about it, am afraid to say.

The guy is a serial complainer, he is always on some barricade or the other.

A couple of years ago he was getting beaten up by the russian cops for joining a gay march in Moscow, last year he was making trouble for the new Mayor of London Boris Jonsson...
Something new every year to keem himself busy I guess...

Besides, I reckon, being catholic himself, he feels the guilt of being the way he is, and he is looking for some never coming absolution...

I agree Dom.. he made the viewers think that Filipinos are stupid enough to follow whatever the Church says... it's either he is reporting based on what he knows, or think he knows or there is very poor research from his crew... I mean, even the poorest of the poor in the Philippines would rather use condoms and pills if they are only given for free.. but the thing is, the government had no budget for that and the poor people would rather buy food that condoms...
