Thank you everyone!! Doesn't seem real yet! The passport with visa is already on its way thanks to the courier service tracking system for that, better and more informative than any UKBA web page I have visited. Current plan is visa received in hand tomorrow, CFO on Wednesday or Thursday, flight at weekend
I've probably asked this before but I can't find any reference to it - CFO asks for completed 'Guidance annd Counselling Form' but I dont see any link for it - anyone know where it is? They also ask for a completed 'Emigrant Registration Form', can't find that either
Steve. Someone else whos wives have done this recently, will know. My memory is that you get the forms on arrival. But that was 3 years ago, for us.
As ever John, thanks! I read some of the old posts and the few references to filling in forms seem to be there at the centre - yet on the website it does say to submit two IDs, blah blah and the Guidance and Counselling Form - it does imply that you have to fill it in first - confusing but no less confusing than the whole of the rest of the system! The courier failed to deliver - claiming Mea's house is out of the deliverable area - I got there, I dont see why they can't - and why don't they tell u that when u sign up! So tomorrow she has to bus it 50 miles to Batangas to pick up the visa from the local office and then bus it into Manila from there to do the CFO on Thursday. I'm not taking any chances - not booking the flight until she has the sticker, hopefully Thursday, luckily the flights seem to be cheap at the moment $507 even on 2 days notice of course not at weekends but who cares about that!
I asked Mrs Ash. She confirmed that she got the forms actually at the CFO in Manila. Yes. Best to holdoff on the flight booking, to be safe.
Mea has collected the documents including the passport and visa (yay!!) from Batangas and is now back in Manila, CFO tomorrow, fingers crossed for a smooth run, by tomorrow lunchtime the flight could be booked!
