Welcome young sir, a topic we have discussed very much here at British Filipino, there are many threads on the subject, its not the easiest thing to get, proof they will exit the UK after the visit is of paramount importance.

My wife was refused a UK visit visa twice when she living in Dubai, knowing what I know now would have made the process a lot easier, as soon as the UKVI gets a sniff of a relationship then they start to suspect that the loved one will overstay in the UK like many Filipinos have done before.

The visit visa is cheap to apply for so there is nothing lost in applying, only everything to gain. My mother in law, sister in law and the wife's friend all got visit visas a few months back without any problems.

I was advised that before about a sniff of a relationship what a nightmare , What documents did they have to produce , did they have to attend the application centre as well , thanks for your response with this

You do not have to attend the Consulate it can all be done online, second time I accompanied my then girlfriend to the British Consulate in Dubai but it didn't make any difference of course. All the finances need to be in order, my wife's first visa was declined giving reasons of financial irregularities. My wife used to get salary and accommodation allowance in one package paid into her account every month, the UKVI I suppose were confused which was which. So you need to spell things out to them like you are dealing with a child, leave no room for uncertainty, remember they are looking to decline the application and there is no appeals process. But like I said, go for it as it is only cheap to apply.

Just a quick few questions if you don't mind, it asks the date of planned arrival in the uk, we was planning for Aug 1st would this be to soon, any idea how long the process actually takes, also it asks what you plan to do whilst in the uk, what would you put here.

Thanks for you advice on this its really appreciated, would you recommend anywhere where you can call and they'd advise on all of these questions.
