Tourist visa documents

I have a question regarding the tourist visa documents.

My boyfriend is not confident to send his original documents like bank statements and passport through any courier. Is it okay if he'll just scan and I'll print all of his documents for my supporting documents? Also, he just printed off his bank statements straight from his account online and didn't bothered to go to the bank to have it signed and stamped by the bank, is that okay? Anyone here who has done that before and was your visa application successful? I doubt that these kind of documents might be a loophole for the visa authorities to reject my application as I'll just be submitting scanned copies of my boyfriend's supporting documents. (I'll submit all of my original documents for my part)

Another question that I have is, where should I address my certificate of employment? In requesting a certificate of employment in our company, they'll be the one who'll compose it and they need the address of the recipient of it. Should I address it to the British Embassy or VFS?

Thank you and hoping to get a feedback from you guys!

No. None of this is OK. I expect your application to fail if you do that. He must submit originals and bank statements must either be originals or each copy of the online statement must be certified by the issuing bank and stamped on every page. Suggest your employment certificate is sent to you to attach to the documents you will submit. There is too much chance of a document going astray and getting lost if you try and have it sent direct to embassy in my view.

We only submitted copy's of everything no originals and no stamp on any of the bank statements I just printed off one page showing balance. We had our visit visa passed early this year.
Maybe just lucky, but all they seemed interested in is showing reasons to return.
And we have been married 18 months.

There's no need whatsoever for your b/f to send his passport. A copy of the bio page will be fine.
Bank statements should be originals. Your b/f can 'block out' sort code and acc number if he feels insecure.
For visit visa I personally never encountered refusal due to scanned copies, but that's just my experience.

Any other letters, statements certificates of employment should be addressed to the ECO (Entry Clearance Office) at the British Embassy.
VFS do not have anything to do with the visa decision making process whatsoever.

I submitted copies for the UK documents and originals for the Philippine documents like certificate of employment, bank statements, etc.. Had 2 visit visas granted. As for the letters, they should be addressed to the ECO, British embassy.

Thank you for the reply! I've already asked my boyfriend to get his bank statements stamped by his bank. :)

The fact that you guys were married made it easier for you to have your visa! Hope we could be lucky as you are! Appreciate your reply! :)

I've already printed out my employment certificate and addressed it to the 'British Embassy Manila - Non-Immigrant Visa Section'. :s Hope that would still be okay. I would have to request again for another copy of my certificate and edit the address if that would not work. :s

Thank you for always replying to my posts! I hope the 'Non-Immigrant Visa Section' addressed to British Embassy would still work. *fingers crossed*

I have another question. Answering the questions on the application form for UK visa seems to be confusing for me especially on this part.

1- What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)?:

I'll be fully supported by my boyfriend who will be paying for all of the cost (food, accommodation, travel tickets and everything) of my UK trip. He told me to put 0 on this part. I'm quite hesitant about it. Should I put some amount on this for my pocket money or extra money? I only have 100k on my account and I'm thinking of putting 1000£ on it. But if I put that, ECO would think that I only have a few money left that will be left on my account. That might be a loophole for them to refuse my visa.

2- The total amount of money you have for this trip

What should I put in here? My bf said I should also put 0 on it as I don't have to spend any except for the pasalubong that I would like to pay for myself.

3- The total amount of money you have for this trip

Again, my boyfriend will be paying for ALL of my expenses. What should I put in here? If I put 0, the ECO might think it would be unbelievable if I don't have any money for this trip even though my bf will be paying for all of the cost of my trip.

I'm so confused. Hope you can help me to answer them. :) Thank you!

Personally, I think situations differ for every application. I no longer have copies of my previous applications as we are now busy sorting documents for our fiancée visa. What I remember though is I truthfully answered every part. I had money on my own which I have used also for the travel.
    1. The cost to me personally
-ballpark of expenses for the whole trip that I will shoulder including accommodation, living costs, fare, etc.
    2. Total amount of money for your trip
-I provided my bank statements and payslips so I put an approximate well within what I had
    3. Same with 2

The cost to you personally for the trip and the amount of money you have for the trip should be realistic. Speak with data - I think (just my opinion) the ECO would study your situation (if you're a student/employed/unemployed etc.) and see how you would live in the UK given the supporting documents/information you provided. It helps that you have money to spend and that you were backed by your company on your leave of absence so I reckon you'll be fine. Any figure or information that you feel need further explaining, you put in the additional section of the application for the ECO to get the whole picture. Again, every application is evaluated on its own so I can only share what I've gone through. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy new year.

Hello I will soon be visiting my boyfriend in the UK from the Philippines and will be applying for a UK torist visa. I will be initially booking a two week trip but my partner has said if things go well he would like me to stay longer. If I initially tell embassy I plan to stay for only two weeks will I still be granted a six month visa that will allow me to stay longer of needed?

I put 0 contribution when I applied for a visitor visa recently and it was approved. It must be common for a Filipina to get her expenses paid for due to theirow salary.
