Tourist Visa, my reasons for coming back home

I have created a thread yesterday about my worries in applying for Tourist Visa next year. (Hope you read it to be able to understand my situation.) Me and my boyfriend talked about what the comments were on my post and told him that coming back for my son is still not a convincing reason since I have worked before in Malaysia for 5yrs and they might think that I can leave my son again for that long.

So the plan was to come to the UK mid of October 2017, and come home after Christmas. But, we changed the plan and decided to fly end of October and come home 1st week of December so that's 6weeks (if that's too long I can come mid November). But when I come back, my boyfriend will be travelling with me to the Philippines and celebrate Christmas with my family here.

And also, both my parents are senior citizens. I will tell them that I will come back to look after them. I will find for someone to look after my son while I'm away, who will also stay here in the house where my parents are staying. Or is it ok to tell them that my son's father's family will look after him while I'm away? With all this, do you think I will have big chance now to get a visa?

Me and Richard will be very happy to hear your comments again.

If I was going to use my parents as evidence of returning to the Philippines I would be looking at trying to submit some evidence that they do need looking after (maybe a doctors note) and that you have been looking after them.

Its unfortunate that with the visit visa that not everybody can provide evidence of owning property, in college, has a good job, permission for leave from work, travel history, money in the bank, looking after children or parents, the list goes on.

Remember, its not the end of the world if you do not secure the visit visa but its cheap and quick to apply for so go for it, you have little to lose and everything to gain.

My father owns the house that I am staying, is it helpful if he will ask the housing department (we live in a government relocation area) to change the owner's name to my name? And also, I own a motorbike, is it considered as investment? I have a small sari-sari store but not yet registered in the government, if I ask for barangay and mayor's permit for my small store, will this be helpful too?

I'm sorry Trimmer too many questions! My boyfriend and I are very positive about coming to the UK. He is very positive that I'll pass the visa, while me, I'm being paranoid! Hehe

Hope to hear from you again Trimmer, it's really helpful

Just apply for the visa..it's less than £90 you will most likely be refused...but they will give you a reason so you can re apply if you can overcome the refusal.

Ok two more questions, can I borrow my passport while the visa is on the process? I will apply my tourist visa mid of June and will travel to Malaysia to see my boyfriend mid July. Do you think I can borrow it? And another question is, I will tell them I'm going to stay for four weeks but the truth is I'll stay for 8weeks, will I have to inform them that I'll extend my stay? @bigmac

the visa is valid for 6 months--its up to you when you arrive--and depart--during that period.
i dont know about borrowing your passport--why not wait till you get it back.

I know you can ask for your passport back for travel purposes when applying for the settlement visa using the regular service but I doubt if it will apply to the visit visa as the application only takes a couple of weeks.

Hi @Lilet Quijada! If it's only a visit visa, you only have to wait up to 15 days usually. The last visit visa I applied for took only a week.

For your other question, no need to inform them. As long as you leave before your visa is due, you'll be fine. Good luck!

I have also thought of that but I've read that you can keep it for a maximum of 10 days. But it could cause more delay for the UK visa. Passport back service costs around 2k PhP

Ok so if I wait for it before traveling to Malaysia and for example they approved my visa application
yes it's better if I will just wait for the result before traveling to Malaysia. Thanks bigmac

Thank you @Dav3&Ai5a The best way is to wait for the result before traveling to Malaysia. If denied, then me and my boyfriend will settle the reason/s of the refusal. By the way, do you know how to prove to them that I'm staying with my parents? And proof that I'm coming back for my son?

Proof of address like phone/utility bills in your name and theirs maybe? Sorry but I don't really know. The reason to return home when I applied was my job. Just try to submit all relevant documents - that's all I can say as every case is different. Hope all goes well with your application.

The reasons we gave for my lady guaranteeing that she would return was that we wanted to marry in the Phils, that she had a job to return to and that she would continue to live with her family.
It seems to me that you have to prove you won't be going after money from the government while here and that someone has accepted responsibility for you financially.
Also a valid reason for your visit helps.

Thanks @Dav3&Ai5a I will post here the documents I have before submitting it to VFS to make sure. I hope to succeed on the first try! If not, I'm happy to apply again. :)

I'm on my second week of the waiting game now. When I first applied last January this year, it only took me a week to get my visa. But now, it's taking more than a week. I've tracked my status and found out than an ECO hasn't assessed my papers yet! Guess it's peak season of visa applications. More patience..

The visa process differs at different times of year, I assume the busiest times will be when students are applying for visas, I'm guessing they take up a lot of time.

You wont have to wait long I'm sure, its something worth waiting for as you already know :)
