    I think I've found the ONE :D

We seem to be getting on well and have made plans
to visit in december, She lives and works near Las Banos

Her family from Molave on Zamboanga Peninsula so I like
to go there to meet them all

normally she would go by ferry which I would not mind doing
as I like to see a little more of the philippines and thought
this may a good way of doing it maybe stopping off on the
    way there

I like to know what you guys would advise or any tips

I will be staying in Molave

Mainly looking for places to visit, maybe places not to
    go if there are any.

I could fly but I just fancy traveling by ferry
    as time not an issue

The one huh? Sounds awesome... :D

Now, although my mahal is also from Mindanao I am wary of that island considering the potential problems to be found in certain parts of it - and Joy has forbidden me from travelling around if she thinks rebels might be in certain areas. And due to this region being a little closer to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, I would advise caution.

    That said...

You need to get to Cagayan De Oro, to get there you can either fly or ferry. If it is evening time a ferry can be comfortable as you would be sleeping for most of it and the first class area is fairly cheap and very comfortable. I flew from Manila to Cebu and got the ferry from Cebu to Mindanao and to be honest the ferry was great! And a great way to spend some quality time with your mahal too...

Getting there should be fairly easy once you arrive at Cagayan De Oro, and the bus would likely be the best way. The bus terminal in Cagayan De Oro is the place to find a bus to pretty much anywhere on the island, though I advise you to let your mahal find the bus as asking around yourself might result in bribing... Also, buy some water and fruit from one of the sellers there, it is only polite and helps feed some family.

I would advise an air conditioned bus if possible, never tried anything but the air conditioned bus (coach) and will likely not bother. They are comfortable and give a great view of the amazing landscapes of Mindanao:like:

Though I guess you will be spending most of your time in Las Banos, or somewhere nearby. Visitng the potential future inlaws is something you must do. Though unless necessary, keep your time there at a minimum (in my opinion) as you will undoubtedly prefer somewhere that you and your mahal can spend quality time alone together - without a chaperone:)

Get yourself to Camiguin then as a slight detour before heading back to Manila. It is just a short ferry ride from Cagayan De Oro, and then you can simply fly from Cagayan De Oro to Manila when it is time to return...

That sounds like a nice idea Patch, have some get-to-know each time together.
Hope everything works out and that you have a great holiday.
