Hi guys - some advice please. I am thinking of coming home next week for a couple of weeks - to see my mum and dad (he is not very well) - my children - and also to destroy Dom's German brandy! However, the question I have is thus: I shall be booking a ticket Cebu - Manchester return - which means that I shall be re-entering the Phils with no outward ticket. I have only done this once - that was when I came back last December. I managed to get through immigration ok - but the guy next to me (who also had no onward/exit ticket) was getting a real grilling from the immigration guy.....I don't know what happened to him in the end. So, am I taking a big risk?? Views please. Al.:england:
Al, I just started a fresh bottle, even tho the old one isn't empty... And you are welcome, of course. As per your small dilemma, I don't see a problem if you are legally entitled to work in Pinas... I suppose a covering letter from the school should suffice. your marriage certificate and rent agreement would be very handy too, and if there are still some doubts one of those will certainly get rid of the problem... Hope this helps somewhat... Have a nice trip mate. See you soon-ish................:vhappy:
Hi Dom - you're up early!!! Thank you for your advice. The school is still sorting out my TIN - SSS and all the other acronymic pieces of NSO papers one is supposed to have over here - so, effectively, I am still working illegally. However, I do have an official marriage cert. and rent agreement. Make sure my glass is clean mate!! Lo vedero presto! (probably wrong!!) Al.:england:
Hello Al, you could get a cheap throw away ticket, it don't matter where its to. A lot of expats do this, when they get a one way ticket to paradise. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&so...sg=AFQjCNE9cBuzOxUhLDQaCAKzIrwdsfNcRg&cad=rja
What visa are you on Al? Surely you have the 13A? If you have the 13A I don't think the requirement applies?
Good point oss. Al, plenty of people do 'get away' with having no return ticket. Plenty do not. My advice is to be sure you have an exit ticket of some kind when you arrive back. It's always better to avoid problems in Pinas.
Hi chaps, Please forgive my tardy reply - I have been preparing things. Firstly, (even though I can't afford it) I think I have had a good deal. Manila - Manchester return - $1061 (about P46,000) - Etihad. Not flown with them before but I've heard some good reports. I arrive in Mancland this Thursday at 3.00 p.m. - fly back here October 6th - so, will be there for about 2 weeks. If you want another meet at Cora's (or wherever) let me know - I can easily see Cora as her cafe/resto is about 2 miles from Stalybridge, where I shall be residing during my visit. I sold my car so it will be public transport for me otherwise - but I'm easy for meeting anywhere (within reason - I mean, Iraq or Afghanistan are definitely OUT!!!) Lastly, I thank you guys for the advice you gave me in answer to my question. I am taking my marriage cert. and rental agreement with me - but, just to be on the safe side, II think I shall book a ticket from Cebu to Singapore - as a 'throwaway' as you have suggested - P1059 with Tiger Airways - only about 15 quid - but if it means I shall be safe at Manila when I return, it will be worth it. Take care everyone - and I hope to see some of you in Blighty in the next 2 weeks!!! Al.:england:
Lookin like Cora's... Dom, are you up for a drive? Seeing as me and Alan are limited to trains/busses?

Up to you guys.. If it is a weekend, I work Saturday so perhaps a Sunday (bearing in mind Florges bump)
