I know you can get TV via cable or satellite in the Phils but does anyone know anything about this free to air satellite systems? I believe you get a box and a dish but don't you need a card for the box and to get a position of a satelite? Just wondering about this as a means of getting better TV when we go to the phils, especailly in the province as we cant get cable and I don't want to pay for subscription satellite for how often we're there.

I think I've seen something for sale in B&Q (a satellite and box) but that probably wouldn't work out there would it?

That doesn't sound bad, I take it its pretty easy to get it turned back on as required?

I've seen satellite dishes for sale in the malls. Not expensive as I recall.
To be honest I'm not sure if any of the satellites available within Phils have any free-to-view channels.
Might be worth checking it out though, even if it's just for fun.
When we lived in Japan we subscribed and that included some pretty good movie channels and for a few quid extra even TFC.
I can't remember how much we paid but not much.

Something like cygnal isn't so expensive. They even have HD channels now

For people in the UK, I've added The Filipino Channel link to the Resources menu up below the main menu.

    Cool :like:

We just moved house May 21st
What a nightmare that was.:erm: That's another story. But basically my fault for being so tight with money.

Anyway, guess what was the first thing to organise before a landline, internet and UK TV?

    Yep, TFC :(

    Bless 'em eh?
