U.K. Visa application headache

Hi all interesting and helpful members on here, so hoping for some advice with uk visa application problem. I am in Philippines at the moment with all the necessary documents for immigration, but having problem booking an appointment with vfs global in Cebu. We have filled in online application , but at the end it said that we need to apply to vfs in Manila with no Cebu option , have we done something wrong on our application ? Also when we try to log in to her account it says the account is locked and we need to follow the instructions in their e mail to unlock it again. The problem being we never received an e mail. I tried visiting the vfs office in Cebu , but was just told to apply and book online ,which we are unable to do . Sorry this is long , but any advice would be great . Hi Brom 27, thanks for reply. Yes that was where we applied . At the end of application , it just said that we need to make an appointment at Manila with no Cebu option. As my girl lives in Cebu it will be much easier for her to go there . I wouldn't let her go to Manila alone , and I will be back in Uk on Tuesday . When we click on book an an appointment at the top of vfs website , it shows addresses of Manila and Cebu , but no link to book at either . Maybe you can only do that after paying the fee and booking appointment to submit documents ?

This also confused me recently - as I understand it you can only apply in person via Manila. I can only think this is a recent change from the UK side and the VFS Global site is yet to be updated. If you are in the Philippines give their office a ring. The UK.GOV website and the application only show Manila now (from memory) it used to have both options.

Thanks very much for the replies . I couldn't find a a phone number or email address for vfs global in Cebu unfortunately . I know that there are no "walk in " appointments now , but I was hoping maybe to make an appointment while we were there . Still can't unlock our account yet . Thanks for the help .

As I said earlier you need to read the thread you can make appointments at cebu. Read the thread

YES, you can make appointments in Cebu, Mattecube helped me to make an appointment in Cebu, its not straight forward, and takes a bit of patience to find the way to book, but 100% you can make the appointment, also i would suggest you use the VIP Lounge then you just walk in, no need to make a timed appointment..

Click onto make a payment 1st Line at the top, then complete the required forms, and you will eventually come to the Cebu Option.

The really confusing thing is if you complete the application online at UK.GOV it books the appointment for you at Manila - there is no longer a choice to select Cebu. So even if you did book an appointment in Cebu you would still have and need to cancel the official appointment booked as part of the application. Not something I wanted to do for risk of complications, that said I'd be interested to see how others braver than me get on...

Hi guys , sorry for late reply, was travelling back to uk. Great help thanks Heathen fo links . Getting somewhere now . Sorry to seem a bit dim , but what is that GFW number they need in top left hand box ? Thanks again all , seems clearer now .

Thanks also Mattecube for the reply and prompt, I now know what GWF number is , just need to get our account unlocked now so we can get it . Maybe I should ask her to make a fresh application if we can't , or would that work against us ?

Hi Heathen/ Mattecube and anyone else , sorry to be a pain . I followed the link and now see the Cebu option . The problem remains that after answering all the questions on the application form for Access Uk , it always ends up saying make an appointment at Manila grrrr. Do I need to make an appointment there and then change it to Cebu office or am I not getting something ? Sorry guys , I really didn't expect to struggle with just submitting an application .

Well I have to say that I would never believe submitting an application could be so difficult . I was prepared that it might be declined , but not for the hassle of even applying haha . Our account has for some reason been locked , the email on how to unlock it never arrived . I have paid the £5.48 for an e mail reply that should have arrived within 2 days , and still nothing five days later .I have paid for an expensive phone call to uk immigration, and even they couldn't give me a solution as it is done by a third party. Vfs global have no phone number or e mail address that I can find so I'm just going around in circles . Has anyone got any suggestions ? ( don't say give up please haha.)

Persevere OTT, as Mattecube will verify i had much the same difficulty, i kept getting frustrated but got there in the end probably part and parcel of cutting immigration numbers, first we will make it dammed difficult to apply, Dont give up, you will get there but please use the VIP Lounge my Fiancee says its very nice they are helpful, and its comfortable finding the way around the website is the hard bit , Im sure you will get there in the end...

Thanks for the help and encouragement you guys . Thanks to you I can now see the Cebu option on the vfs website . My problem is ,that because my account is locked , with no knowledge of how to unlock it , I can't access the GWF number they need for me to proceed with the application .
