My wife will be applying for ILR in early 2024. Just looking at the 'next steps' - British Citizenship (BC) etc - and came across these 2, with relevant fees of £1330 & £1206 respectively. What are they and which is relevant for BC? TIA.
I believe in your case UK naturalization fee. Two options to citizenship depending on eligibility. Naturalization or registration. The first is the most common but depending on eligibility may be able to do the second. https://immigrationbarrister.co.uk/...citizenship/british-citizenship-registration/
Thanks for that @Br28016 Will be looking in more detail nearer the time, but just trying to get an early idea of the 'next steps', costs etc.
The Nationality Registration fee often used by children under the age of 18 and has numerous qualifying criteria see page 6 of this link https://assets.publishing.service.g...egistration_as_British_citizen_-_children.pdf This link explains the adult requirement for British registration https://www.gherson.com/british-cit...sation/registration-adult-as-british-citizen/ Neither suit your circumstances @UKDJ There are a number of forms of naturalisation The 5 year route to ILR then to BC this is the path your wife is on now and the correct one. or an example of a different route is that you are here on Settled status under the EU scheme
Thanks @Mattecube ... Having read the link Posted by @Br28016 it was obvious that the Nationality Registration fee was NOT appropriate for us, but from what you say NEITHER is appropriate in our case? So, are we just looking at the ILR fee (currently £2404), which includes a British Citizenship (BC) ceremony fee (BC ceremony is currently £80, I believe)?
that dont sound right. ILR is 2404..plus 800 if you want quick result ( if avaiable) citship is another 1200.
I thought there must be other costs involved somewhere, so that sounds more like it! - Plus the LitUK Test fee along the way too.
