I think they would probably be rejected at the check-in desk in the UK.

Thanks for the information and reply.

Why did the letter not appear to be from the employer?

I assume you got approved on your second attempt?

They ask for some crazy proof of living together documents. 3 different bills in each of our names for the same address over the last 2 years.

We have been traveling staying in airbnb and hotels most of the time all in my name. We stay at my parents house in UK so no bills obviously they will sign the letter saying that. (we have not spent a day apart in 3 years but just a case of proving it, can we prove it another way other than the bills?)

The relatively recent banning of flights from UK is likely to be short-lived I feel, as more and more countries announce they have cases of the new variant of their own.

Firstly my employer was just a sole employee of his company Transport/logistics up until i began work for him, the letter that he gave me was just a typed up letter containing the information about my employment with his contact details in it, remember they also had Bank Statements containing payments from him in those bank statements, but no they didnt check anything out or ask for more info they just said the letter appeared to not be from my employer, the same with the divorce certificate they could have just asked that i supply a copy, but no they just sent the refusal notice.

Yes i got approval at the second attempt, but it was so darned frustrating having to apply again remembering that the TB test has a 6 months time limit, and to retake would have required another trip to Manila for my wife which from Mindanao is no joke..

Everything that you have got that proves you have been together, such as photographs head each photograph with the place and date, we did that in our application proving that we had known each other over time most people do that in there applications, so if you have no bills, just furnish them with every possible item that you do have, another thing is flight tickets that you took together, everything that you have done together put into a portfolio..also remember your parents need to show that there house is NOT overcrowded with you staying there.. Hope this helps.

Ollie as you are aware you have to demonstrate that you have been living together akin to marriage for the last 2 years, what you describe could be seen as just a traveller (you) stopping at various hotels in double rooms (brutal i know but thats how the UKBA will look at it) and then arriving home with a travel companion you could show photos of the 2 of you together in various locations but I am not sure that demonstrates in the UKBA eyes that you live together, only that you have had various travels together, I remember helping with Heathens 2nd application and what he describes about the letter from the employer is accurate they the UKBA want every detail covered and like the divorce paper I have known a couple of failures because the divorce paper supplied didnt have the court stamp on!

Wouldnt it be a lot simpler if you apply for a fiancee visa ? Only need to prove you have met in person. Then get married within 6 months.

Yes probably but we don't want to rush to have a wedding with in 6 months with covid going on. Nor do I want to get married to get a visa feel it would be nice to be a separate issue.

i really am trying to help you out here.

you want your girlfriend to be with you in the UK for keeps--right ?

basically, you have 3 options--marriage--but you cant get married with a visit visa,

................................................. fiancee--you get married within 6 months--but you dont want to??

....................................................living together as if you are married--for 2 years--but you cant prove it.

there is really no other options open to you.

or--just wait it out till UKVI invite her to leave.

    i know what i would do--and i did..and have no regrets.

Ah I see. Yer appreciate what you're saying. We can just wait another 8 months till we can prove we've lived together the full two years if it comes to that not the end of the world. And apply from Manila. I think we can prove we've lived together everyday since 2018 anyway, its just we've moved all over the place hard to judge what their view will be on it but we'll apply and see my guess is that we have a good chance.

We are fortunate to be in a comfortable position, we don't need to be in UK for any reason just seems like an opportunity to get it done now from London during Lockdown.
