Well - an update on my own visa application. An application for my Filipina wife and 2 stepdaughters in currently being processed. We did the biometrics on 1st July.

Today - the 10th August - we received a 'A decision has been made' Email from UKVI.

We paid for the premium lounge service at VFS manila which includes a courier. So now... I guess its time to wait. And bite my nails off to the elbow.

Anyone in Manila remember how long it took from getting that email to receiving the documents back?

Oh dear. We are both a bit tense today. Not enjoying this waiting at all.

K and I can relate to that.

K and the stepsprog did the biometrics on the 30th of July so we are 30 days behind you.

K is in "don't tempt Providence" mode and is refusing to buy clothes for the UK, to take driving lessons or anything else... Specifically, I suggested getting a wedding dress made and bringing it with her as there is not a huge choice in Size 6 here... but that would be "really asking for it" so it won't happen. She has always said that she wants to marry in white shorts and a T shirt anyway, but it may not be that warm in November!

It looks like a forty day turn around time. Time for me to get the house tidy and get down to the gym....

I hope so. I will be happy if it's just the CFO sticker red tape that we need to overcome. Been writing a checklist about that.

Yeah I've been tidying, taking furniture deliveries, emptying drawers and sorting out my accumulated stuff for months now.. My gym membership hasn't been over-used however. oops. :)

A good dose of "sanitizing" is required...............
Ripping the bottom of the settee and disposing of what's trapped inside has got to be a priority,
the most innocent item may turn to be cause for serial tampo even if there is a logical explanation....

Hi All, Best of luck to all of you who are waiting to hear your visa results. Just to update you on my brothers progress for UK Spouse visa.Luckily all the docs he sent to his wife in Manila were ok in the badly damaged DHL package and she submitted them and did the biometrics this morning so we are hoping for a great outcome from the second application. The time frame last time was 5 weeks so we are praying for a quick outcome this time as well. Laugh yeah I can imagine. Luckily I moved house not long ago so not many worries there.

I just realized that if the visa is granted the aggressiveness of the plan to get the kids into school means that I'll have to fly there within a week and the house will have to be emptied and CFO obtained the following week. Preparations over there have been meandering gently along on Phillippine time for the past couple months despite my repeated warnings to get as much done as possible in advance. My asawa has just started to realize that things may just have to accelerate like a piano falling out of a window. Of course... could all be a panic for nothing. :)

Good luck for your brother's application. Second time lucky.. :)

we received all the visas back this morning. That's a relief. :)

    Final timeline:
    Online applications: 20 June
    Biometrics: 1 July
    Decision Made Email: 10th August
    Visas arrived: 12th August.

Given that it was quite a complicated application under Category F with dependent children I'll post some documentation details in a thread if anyone is interested. Whilst every case is different, some people might find that helpful perhaps.

    Congratulations!

Since K and I made our application on the 12th July with biometrics on the 30th July and we have included her six year old son with her fiancée application, the details will be interesting. Thanks.
