just give it a try--its a relatively cheap visa for a visit.

are you planning to return and settle here in the future ?

Hi Dave Bit of a lottery but if your resident in the Fils worth a go ,you might want to apply for a specific time period that isnt 6 months the maximum

I'd say you stand a reasonable chance, as bigmac says, it is only cheap to apply for the UK visit visa so give it a try.

The fact your wife has a little travel history should help, if given the chance try to emphasise on the application that you will be returning to the Philippines, that's what the UKVI is most interested in.

Note that the UK basic visit visa is valid for six months.

cheap is a relative term--its cheap compared to the full cost of the settlement visa route--and in relation to the cost of your flights. my fiancee was refused once--but re-applied and got it.

in your case--apply---explaining in depth your commitment to living in the filis-----and if you are refused you will see the reason why--then you can re-apply covering the refusal reason. view it as an arrival tax.

Hello Dave, it's not impossible to get a visit visa for your wife.

Important details to be submitted are you and your wife's bank statements, proof of property here in the philippines (and the UK perhaps), employment details, itinerary (plans) when wife gets there, plus her accommodation. :)

You could include and explain in your sponsorship letter the why's, when's and how's of your wife's visit. Good luck ;)

Your wife stands a good chance.
Important is to convince the ECO that there is no immigration intent and she'll return before the visa expiry and there's sufficient funding for the duration.

One trick bit is specifying the duration.
Don't be tempted to say 2 weeks and stay 6 months if there's an idea to visit again in future.

I'm sure you'll be ok based on the info you've shared.
I think the visa cost is still around £85 and decisions are made pretty quick

    Good luck
