I recently posted that my wife’s spouse visa was refused on financial grounds through a big cockup by someone at UKVI not calculating my income properly. the situation continues to be bizarre and I am posting for info to anyone else going through the stressful business of trying to get their partner over here. following her refusal, I registered a complaint to UKVI, I emailed my local MP who forwarded to UKVI and I started the appeal process. I have not heard anything from anyone, the appeal is registered and I am now waiting to hear from them so that I can give them my argument and supporting documents. I was woken up at 2am by the wife stating that VFS Manila had phoned her to say that her passport was ready for collection along with her visa !! At 8am this morning I received an email from Sheffield stating that her visa was issued and she now has 90 days to get here. Her visa is valid until 2026. the appeal tribunal staff have no idea or knowledge of this and do not know who overturned the refusal. I am therefore assuming that (and my solicitor agrees) that it was probably the email from my MP that did the trick. If anyone else has similar problems then, for us, this has saved a lot of time waiting for the appeal process.
stressful but good result in the end, 7 weeks for decision (albeit refusal) and one week to overturn. We feel luck turned our way
