he will need TB check but does not need to do the English Test, when you get the visa he will need to do the CFO seminar for 13 to 19 year olds its called the PDOS. Is the process hard no its the same as when you applied for your spouse visa only a bit more info. Do exactly the same documents as you did for your visa just add his birth certificate your annulment papers. You may need a letter of consent from the biological father, you will have to provide last known contact details. We waited about a month for our response.

Ah Brilliant definitely sounds like the settlement one just loads of paperwork. That’s where it comes in though, we have lost in contact with the Dad for years and has never been part of the family or my son’s life growing up? It has always been me and my Parents who raised him so I need loads of proof for that.

Does the TB test comes after the visa application when you got it the visa itself or you can have that done before? Sorry about the questions I really have no one to turn to besides this forum!

a childs visa is a settlement visa..the same as yours. just different questions on the online form..plus some of the sponsorship appendix 2 doesnt apply.

he has to get his TB certificate before the application

yes--one of the vaf4 application questions asks if your (sons) sponsor is married to your ( son) parent.

Interesting question! But shouldn’t it be different through? I think a year would be enough then we could apply together for citizenship? I should have applied few years ago! (I was under the old rule 3 year one) but I didn’t because I wanted my son here first?
