We submitted our online application on Thurs 12th Oct, I posted my my documents off to Sheffield, my wife had an appointment today 17th at VFS Global Manila for her biometrics and her Documents to be scanned. She was told that they can not scan them, if they did, they wouldn't be seen with our application, she was told to send them to me and for me to post them to or take them to Sheffield. She is going to get them scanned at a computer shop/internet cafe, and email me the PDF files for me to print, I will post these to Sheffield. My concern is that now our documents will be in 2 lots of post delivered to Sheffield... I hope they'll not just accept the first lot of documents.. This goes against all the other stories I've read here... about Scanning both Sheffield and VFS Global...
I totally agree..... Where do I find their Number? I rang them before but only their helpline at £1.37/min
The instructions does say All supporting documents... There is an Alternative... but not as well as...
This is worrying please let us know what happens next. I assume your wife had to hand in her passport when her Biometrics were done? Update: There is an email service ( cost £5) they claim to reply in two working days. I just sent an inquiry asking what is going on, lets see what happens!
Yes my wife and stepson handed in their passports. I have tonight sent a copy of their documents to Sheffield.
Got a reply from VFS with a link to a PDF, not a lot of help really! http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/philippines/pdf/Visa-application-center.pdf
There is definitely document scanning at VFS... you can use either VFS or Sheffield not both, for scanning
You know follow up emails on the same subject are free.... it might be worth asking if both scanning services can be used
We decided that my wife will send her docs to me by DHL and I will forward them direct to Sheffield with my supporting docs. Hopefully that will bypass any problems at VFS Manila. VFS stated in thier reply: "Directing you to the guidance material is the only advice we can give you. If you need any further help you should seek independent immigration advice." I paid £5 for them to tell me that!
Hey Jims456, how did you get on ? Did you receive your wife documents safely from DHL ? Have you had a decision on the VISA? Best of luck, David
Sorry for delay in reply David. Been working my socks off and not been here recently. DHL were fantastic, reasonable cost (2500php) to send my Wife's docs to me in UK, time taken four days (Davao to UK). Been waiting 58 working days so far still waiting I'm guessing another Month to wait, very nervous ans stressful time
