    Hi guys,
I applied for a spouse visa for my wife and daughter, the visa was approved. When she went to get to the passport at vfs, they only gave her the passports but I know some people get the letter saying that visa is successful. It also says "you must present this letter to the immigration officer upon arrival in the UK" on the letter. If my wife doesn't have the letter will they have problems entering the UK?

They have the visa, that’s what counts. Don’t forget she must do the CFO before she comes. Defending age of the daughter she may have to do the cfo also but I’m sure someone else will tell you what the age range is for the daughters CFO.

Age range is 13 to 19 for children

So I shouldn't worry about the letter? Thanks

Nope, don't worry about the letter, it is the visa that what legally grants you access to the UK. Out of interest, how long did you wait for notification that the application was successful?

There’s usually a letter for spouse visa and it should tell you how to collect the BRP when she arrives in the UK. Did you not get any sort of instructions?

Did you pay for a priority application or just standard?

What I have noticed is no two cases are ever the same, there is no consistency with UKVI. You should have got an accompanying letter but I have read in other cases this follows the return of visa stamped passports. Documents should come back before a decision is made but read a post this evening stating documents received back after decision made which surprised me. I got mine back 2 and a half weeks after submission and still waiting a decision. Everything of mine was submitted 13th September so unless you paid for a priority application I should get a decision this week but hey, not holding much hope, as I say, timelines are inconsistent. Like I said, can you let me know if you paid priority? Many thanks

Mine is non-priority. I'm probably lucky to get the visa early

Have both passports got the visas inside them? Are you in the UK?

If the confirmation letter has not arrived how will they know where to collect the BRP from? The confirmation/BRP letter must be got before they leave otherwise they could be in the UK when the vignette runs out otherwise they potentially will be in the UK illegally
