Hi all , well we have received our decision from visa office , and as you can see it was denied . Although it was half expected , it's obviously disappointing . We obviously never gave a strong enough reason for them yo believe my gf will return after one month vacation here. The reasons they gave , were because she doesn't have a job or own property in Philippines . Not really fair reasons to deny someone a vacation I would have thought. More annoyingly, they say it's also because she has no dependents , when she has declared on the application, that she has a 5 year old son . They say there is no appeal , so I wondering if anyone can suggest what we can do to make a second application successful ? Any help great fully received . Thanks all .

It will be unlikely for a unemployed Filipino National with no assets to be successful in an application.
It looks on paper as if she will not return.

She will have a better chance of success if she can show some or all of the below:

    a) Ownership of property or other assets.
    b) Enough money in her bank to fund her stay in the UK and pay for flights plus a substantial reserve.
    c) Ongoing employment in the Philippines with pay stubs and a contract.
    d) Membership of a course of full-time education in the Philippines such as a university.
    e) Dependent children in the Philippines, evidenced by Birth certificates, who will not be going on the trip.
    f) Ownership of a business in the Philippines.

Why does she need a tourist visa? Perhaps it would be simpler for you to visit her for one month.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you are successful on the next occasion. I've read here that lots are turned down the first time. Good luck to you both. Jx

Hi guys , thanks for replies . Yes I have been out there with my gf 4 times in the last 18 months . I thought it would be a great experience for her to come here for one month .I did state on the forms that I would cover the cost of everything including flights and spending money , and she would stay with me at my house . She has some savings in her account , and they said they accepted that I can afford to sponsor her .
Surely every Filipino that comes to uk doesn't own their own house . I don't know why they said she has no dependents to return to when she has written down that she has a son who will live with her sister for one month. I'm thinking now we will need to get a written offer of a job ,before we re apply . Can anyone give us an idea how long we should wait please . Thanks again to everyone who took the time to reply . Really appreciate it .

You can reapply right away if you are ready. You don't have to wait for certain time.

Sorry to hear about the refusal anyway. I have the same experience last year when I first applied for visit visa. They believe that my partner can sponsor me but they also have to consider my own personal circumstance and all that crap they came up with. Just try to address the reasons for their refusal and just reapply.

    All the best :)

My wife was turned down for a tourist visa so it's not surprising to me.

I have read that if someone has traveled before and has returned from that country it shows they have a history of returning. So you could try you going to Singapore with her on holiday. Then when she has the stamp in her passport it may help.

Hi Richey, thanks for your message .
We did actually go to Thailand and Malaysia travelling around for one month , and I had hoped that that would help. We were interviewed by immigration at Cebu airport , and I signed a form accepting responsibility for her welfare and return .
Apart from her finding work or starting a small business , I can't see how we can satisfy their requirements at the moment .
