Hi, Would really appreciate some help and advice , we are considering accepting a job back in the UK (after many years away ) my partner and I are not married but have been together for 5yewrs (we have a son together and also my son from my first marriage and her daughter all live with us in Thailand (I am here on a work visa ) The boys have UK passports so that's not going to be a problem , my question is if I get the contract can I apply for a visa for my partner and step daughter (her dad is not on the birth certificate so no worries there) The job in UK pays well so wouldn't have issues with the financial side Would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction
Section 5.4 is bit you need to read on the financial requirements. No personal experience on this one so can only go with guidance. https://assets.publishing.service.g...pendix_FM_1_7_Financial_Requirement_Final.pdf Proving relationship may be a challenge. Theory is that do not have to be married but not heard of many cases outside fiance/wife. Also get the impression that it is a challenge getting them to accept the relationship. Hopefully someone on the board has experience of getting visa using relationship route and can give advice. Will also need to satisfy the other requirements such as accomodation that has already been mentioned so will need to check how many rooms are required which us a function of age and sex of children. Room requirement is not strictly bedrooms but usable rooms and you, your partner and all chikdren count in the room calculation.
