Happy to report that my fiancées visa was granted, at first try too. In all it took just 6-weeks from appointment submitting documents to receiving the passport with visa inside. We did it all without the aid of any agencies, but I don’t think we’d have been successful without the help, guidance and support we found here, so a big thank you! The key things to share from our experience, is in the preparation and presentation of you documents, reading the rules, and checking twice. The idea and content for a covering letter (from here) was what really brought it together and helped us review our application and feel that we had done everything needed. Here is a link to my post here, in case it can provide help to others. As expected, I am of course back with another question too; does anyone have recent experience of arrival in to UK for the first time, with visa? I am naturally cautious and like to plan (a lot!), and want to make sure, when Anna lands at Heathrow, she has no worries entering UK. From what I’ve read on gov.uk she just needs passport & visa (which is in the passport…) and the landing card, I’m suggesting she should keep all the visa application documents in her hand luggage in case too. Does she just come through the airport as normal or have to report to immigration first? I know she will need the biometric card when she’s home, but there wasn’t much other guidance to be found?
Congrats. Just queue in the non-EU line and prseant passport and big hugs after she has passed security
Thanks, the hugs is a given for sure The CFO sticker is an interesting one, as she's flying from Hong Kong to LHR, with just a 2hr stop over in Manila, I figured if she stays in the departure area and just goes straight to the gate without going through their immigration it'd be ok?
Best for your fiancée to do the seminar and get the sticker. No sense in taking chances. Congratulations to both of you too
As she's currently living and working in Hong Kong, as an ofw, she did her seminar at got a sticker ages ago to work overseas. And now that she's not going through passport control in the airport, just going to her connecting flight, there'll be no opportunity to attend any seminar, so hopefully no issues....
Hello there,I would like to ask if anyone in this site has the same situation as mine. I don't have CFO sticker stamped in my passport because I am departing from Hongkong to UK.I processed and received the decision of my Marriage Visa in this country,Hongkong (I am an OFW).My fiance and I booked my airticket from Hongkong to Heathrow with a 2 hours layover in Manila Airport. I am wondering if I reach Philippines, would there be any possibility that an Immigration Officer would check my passport and find out that I don't have the CFO sticker
