hi, hope some of the expert can help me out here, having a problem writing the correct answer here on these 2 questions??

1.17 provide details of how long you have been in a relationship akin to marriage


answer..we have been in a relationships from 8th July 2011, and (name)has travelled 12 time in
2.5 years to the Philippines, we have a 1 year old baby and we rent an apartment from 11/11/12

not sure if this the answer they are looking for, need some help please....and

1.19 have you lived with your sponsor in a relationship akin to marriage or cp at any time.

answer..we both rent an apartment and when (name) is in the Philippines we live together with our 1 year old son as a family,we have a contract of lease and share all bills.

Will. Yes. And the important thing is to provide supporting documentary evidence for your statements.

Also, if you have spent time apart, the ideally you would provide Skype or YM or other chat logs as evidence of your continued relationship.

Your passport stamps ought to help as evidence. Evidence of financial support is useful.

And a good portfolio of photographs is expected.

hi, john....like I have stated every time I go back to the Philippines I stay at our apartment with my girlfriend and our son.

as for the evedence I will be supplying my old passport which has all my stamps, and log print/screen shots of ym, imessage, facetime and emails going back to the first time we met. also 2.5 years of western union transfers.

my evidence is not the problem, the problem is how to write the answer, as I think they want it??

Our circumstances were different but the approach would still be the same.

For the form filling you need to adopt a succinct factual style. But you will also complete a joint statement in which you can expand on the stuff on the form, making more of a ( true) story out of your joint history together.

To be honest, Will, you have a strong case, so no need to worry there. You will need to list dates and duration of visits, though you may not have space on the main form? But you would want to list them elsewhere, possibly in your joint statement.

Dont leave them to assume anything. If anything, spell it out to them clearly.

ok, for question 1.17 have been In a relationship from(date)and (name) has travelled to the Philippines 12 times. the date are and duration are. evidence supplied in form of flight tickets, dated pictures, hotels books, embassy bookings.

all the above is covered in my support letter, date and days spent in the philippines

I would say you are on the right track. We had seen much less of each other than you and yours and still managed to succeed.

Relationship akin to marriage may be the date you lived together as akin to husband and wife or may be from your actual marriage It is not necasarily from the date you met since i dont remember your sequence cant say more

keep your evidential pack clearly sectioned finances : pictures : marriage certs etc perhaps each doc can be numbered and a master list supplied and kept for your records preferably make two identical if they mess up you will have an exact record of the evidence supplied which if you ever needed to appeal is important Since appeals under rules applications can only be based on the origional evidence supplied and the H.O. has been known to misplace docs just saying

john, your joint statement, is your joint statement the sponsor statement?? and have you and your wife signed it??

We both signed the joint statement. I recall there was also a sponsor statement which I signed only. I will try and check this but I think this is what we did. It was the joint statement that had all the finer detail in about our relationship and when and how we met etc etc


Just checked. It was exactly as I said in the above paragraph.

ok thanks john, I think Instead of getting my girlfriend write a letter or do a joint letter, I am going to write a timeline of all the event that's happened to us in the last 2.5years, like..

date we meet snd where
date she got pregnant.
date of birth of my son.
date of baptismal of my son and where
date of meeting of my girl friends mother
etc. etc.

so far it almost 2 pages, so I will keep to that, this will be added to my support letter which is 2 pages, and both of us will sign the time line...what do you think.

Sounds good. Just make sure your dates in the timeline tie together with the dates on your application form.

the only problem is the date pictures I have, are around the apartment or at a mall, I have no landmark pictures, but I will use them anyway cause they are dated....what I have got, is pictures of my sons baptismal,in a church by its official photographer, all dated by them, it even has the name of the church on pictures...
