Hello Everyone, I have been in a relationship with my gf for over two years and I have visited her in the Philippines 4 times, last December I stayed with her for a month and stayed with her and her family for christmas. I tried to get her a visitor over a year ago and it was refused. They did list reason why they refused and I should be able to debunk most of this this time around. I will make another application in late September. My gf was not working last time but although she is working now it is on a 6 month contract that ends in September. I would like her to stay for 6 weeks so I know she needs to get some kind of letter from an employer stating that she will start work when she returns. I understand that the immigration prime goal is to ensure that the visitor returns to their country. My gf don't own her own home so I am not sure of what other things I can say to prove that she will return after her visit. I dont think it will be easy for her to get a letter from employer for to start work months later? What do you guys think?
Your right the onus is on you guys to prove that she will return. Once you start the annulment process get the attorney to issue you on headed paper possible dates that she will need to attend court in the Philippines. We did this ourselves and I think this helped. Put money in her acc to show she can stay here without recourse to public funds. The fact that you are sponsoring her doesn't seem to register with these immigration officers. Do a good covering letter, lots of winning examples on this site
Only trouble is my finances are not great, I cant afford to start the annulment until next year :-( But that is a great idea if I could afford it.
just think of the previous visa fee as a sort of tax. £89 isnt going to break the bank. you now know the reason for refusal--so you can do something about it.
I suggest making the application straight away. You have 3 months after issuance to enter UK, this way she can ask her employer for a letter and it will still be valid. He doesn't have to mention that her contract will end in September.
She works for SM, one of the largest companies in the Philippines and I doubt they would do that. For some reason they take on allot of staff and give them 6 month contracts and then they are not allowed to work for the company again. I think they do it to get some kind of tax break or something from the government. I will ask her if she can speak to her manager but from what she tells me about them they are assholes. They always finding ways to rip off the staff anyway they can, work regulation in the Philippines is rediculous.
