Just a "look", the threat of stopping them playing on their Playstation, PC or tablet has been enough for me.
I have raised my voice on the odd occasion but my children never fear me and I get lots of cuddles and kisses as a result :like:

Cue thousands of 12 year olds threatening to report their parents to childline if they so much as tell them off.

    It doesn't work like that.
Social workers are quite good at spotting the false claims.

No,I know how that feels, sorry but child abuse isn't a joking matter, held by his ankle and beaten by a stick ain't fun to be honest.

It was intended as a joke, nothing serious in it.
I do agree that child abuse is an abomination, but one has to understand that there may be occasions when a sharp slap on the leg or bum could be required as last resort.
Life is not always as pretty as painted, how can one respect laws and discipline if all one gets as punishment for wrongdoing is the confiscation of a toy.

But we have laws against child abuse, Dom, and the repercussions when caught can be severe.
