When we lived in Japan we always enjoyed a visit to a spa. Whether it was a natural Onsen resort spa, the SkySpa on the 14th floor of the Yokohama Sky Building or even the local public onsen. Even here in UK we managed to find a local gym and spa with swimming pool just a few minutes drive away. We've always sought out a good spa in the Philippines and have been impressed with the variety and the facilities available. There are plenty of massage places and so-called spa's all over the Philippines, but it's not always easy to find those that are absolutly genuine and safe for all. If you happen to find yourself in a hotel around NAIA airport, I'd like to recommend you find some time to make a visit to Wensha Spa in Pasay. It's open 24 hours and provides a good range of treatments including body massage, facials and reflexology. There's also the usual showers, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi Wensha spa has a good 'menu' of services with prices ranging between P600 to P2200. Last time we visited we bought tickets for 8 hours and included a body massage an eat-all-you-can buffet and cook-your-own soup/stew/shabu-shabu. My wife added a facial massage treatment which she had while I quaffed a few SML's to rehydrate myself. It follows the same principles as most of the good Japanese Spa's in that the male and female spa and massage areas are seperate. The only place to spend time together is the dining area. Also be advised that no swimwear (and no underwear) is allowed in the spa areas. Only pre-provided towel. Before heading off to the massage/treatment areas and dining areas you'll get showered and dressed in the provided matching shorts and mini-yukata. Very stylish, but be sure to get the correct size. There's only one design but two colours, one for male and another for females. It really is a great place to de-stress, relax and get pampered. Oh, and by the way kids are also welcome.
