My wife has been in the Philippines and she’s back next week, so what should I ask her to bring back?
You can get big ones over there I have one over there and it would not fit me a few years ago but I'm shrunk enough now for it to fit actually it might be a bit baggy it was about 2XL size.
Yeah I was going to say something like that I am not sure I would want any pasalubong from anyone returning from any country, I do buy a bit for family when I return to the Phils but that is always Chocolate and then some Cigarettes for the guys and for our security guards in the subdivision.
Can't think of anything, pinays themselves think most stuff made over there is junk and import is best dry fish maybe?
We collect keepsakes of places we visit. Driftwood off the beach Atlantic city, seashells and bits of seaweed, we even have a jar of water from the Hudson!
Can get you into trouble in some places I think it is still illegal to take sand from UK beaches (contributes to coastal erosion) Water from the Hudson you should be fine with just stick a Budweiser label on it and no one will know
Never taken sand or pebbles as yes there are many by laws protecting the environment so it's always been bits of driftwood or seashells. Mind you I do do a fortnightly " friends of Crosby beach" litter pick but never take the stuff home. I wonder if I could bottle the Mersey water and get away with selling it as Mountain fresh spring water Maybe not
One thing I do take of beaches is marine glass as the sea has eroded all the sharp edges of it I give is my sister to put in her potted plants to jazz the pot up a bit. Have to boil it first as the salt will kill most plants.
I believe bringing pieces of coral out of the Philippines is illegal I did it with some very small dead pieces from Boracay long time ago when I didn't know this, still have them.
Yup, DENR will prosecute if someone is caught at an airport with coral, pawikan shells etc. Natural history museum in London also has coral on display that was smuggled into UK and seized.
