    Hi everybody,

My 2 year old son arrived from the Philippines under a dependant visa. We recently got his UK passport as the father is British.

We are now not sure what to do. Do we need to notify the immigration about this or tell the Philippine embassy he is now British?

    thanks in advance.

No don't do that, your child has every right to be a dual national, there is no particular reason to notify the Philippine authorities at all.

My daughter is a dual national she has a UK passport and a Philippine passport, we have not said anything to the Philippine authorities and of course the UK authorities know all about the dual nationality due to the passport application.

How did you get dependent visa for son, then get british passport, has thought if trying for visa and find out he might be british, they would advise you to try for certificate of entitlement as father is british.
