Although we have energy independence in Asia where it actually makes sense,I often wondered if it would be a viable option in the UK midlands area given the recent insecurity brought on by these new and totally unrealistic net zero policy measures there. From the research I have done thus far,in order for us to go off grid in terms of 240 power supply,it will cost 18 to 20,000 Pounds. That is more than 3 times what it cost us here but I believe it's something that we must do before TSHTF. When that happens it will be far too late of course to order panels,CCs,inverters and lifep04 batteries. By that time, such equipment will simply not be available. We do have neighbour's that have panels hooked up via only a grid tie inverter and they say that they have recently been making good money via their export meter. Much more then they were a couple of years back. Sounds like an excellent investment to me,so think we will go for it early next year. Hopefully before it's too late when the lights go out.
It's people like this that should be running and managing energy policy in the UK. Sadly though, they are not!
Not all bad news here. When the wind does blow and the sun does shine excessively what we need is mass sustainable reliable storage batteries to store the excess. Here's a battery technology that I think looks worth investing in,in the near future.
