Hi everyone. I'm new here and to be honest I'm not really sure how things work. I have looked around a little and everyone seems to be really friendly and helpful, so I thought maybe talking a bit about myself would help get things going? So, here goes. I'm Richard. I am recently out of marriage (8 months ago) and I'm now ready to start searching for the missing piece again. I have actually been to the Philippines a while back and found the people and culture amazing. While I was there, I of course noticed how different women from the Philippines were compared to English women. That observation is the reason I have found myself here. I'm just hoping to meet someone nice to talk to and get to know better and see where it leads. I'm not entirely sure if this is what this site is for, but I detest dating sites and thought I'd try here instead. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Richard..Welcome!

Personally,I think the best way to meet a future partner is in an accidental fashion and when you least expect it.. If your preference is Filipino women then you really should think about spending more time here to explore the country and culture at your leisure..Meet lots of people, have a good time and see what becomes of it..
Just about every foreigner I meet here tells me that 95% of women using dating sites here are scammers in one degree or another.
Some of the things I see and hear, here are enough to make your hair go all curly!
    A real eye opener.
The only way to get to know if someone is genuine is to get to know them over time and look into their eyes whilst they speak or interact with you.. Anything else is a shortcut and a huge gamble usually based on a pretty picture on the internet and a ton of B.S below it!!
    I think you deserve better.

Hi Richard and :welcome: to the forum. We do have members looking for love here and although we aren't a dating site you are quite welcome to shoot the breeze with other members. I'd be interested in hearing how you ended up being in the Philippines and obviously the place grabbed your attention. All members here have different perspectives on how they met their gf or wife but for me internet dating did work.

I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck :like:

Thank you bootsonground. I agree with you completely. Dating sites can be too misleading and you don't really get a sense of who you are talking to. In regards to spending more time over there, I am planning a trip for a few weeks mid January in the hopes of getting to know some people and developing some friendships to begin with. At the moment I plan to go alone. From my last visit I found people to be very friendly and with me going there with different intentions this time I'm hoping it'll be a great trip

Thanks HaloHalo. Like I mentioned earlier I wasn't 100% what this site was all about but after a bit more exploring it's become more apparent that everyone is here to help everyone regarding legal matters or just being there to help in general. Who knows though I may be lucky and meet someone too.
I actually have a friend who is travelling all over the world and invited me to the Philippines when he was there. He told me there was nowhere else like it and I had to come too. I spent a couple of days in Manila but the majority of my trip was in Bohol and it was the most beautiful place I've ever seen. That coupled with the amazing attitude of the people there and the positive atmosphere, it has now become somewhere I NEED to spend more time. I am currently planning a solo trip there again in January to explore a little more

Excellent Richard and thanks for the info. Yep Bohol is nice and Boots can tell you more about it I'm sure. Its not my favourite place but if you get back to Cebu area again I'd thoroughly recommend camotes island as its mindblowiingly beautiful in my eyes. Of course Palawan gets to be be the number 1 place to visit in many holidaying journals/magazines for 2015 again. Wherever you go there's no shortage of hospitable people as you're aware :)

I actually heard a lot about Palawan while I was there last time. Although I'm interested in seeing the places away from the tourist spots on my next trip so I'll definitely look into camotes island. Any other not so well known area recommendations would be greatly appreciated too :)

    Welcome!

If I wasn't heading for the UK, I would be your tour guide.
I would have showed you around the best clubs in Metro Manila.

8 months out of marriage? You need a bit of fun, I reckon. :D

If you're not into the night club scene, I also have lots of Pinay friends looking to finally settle. Though they're not of the online chatting variety.

When do you plan on visiting here? I'd say just go for it.
If you can, bring a friend or two and go on a bachelor tour.
Since Christmas is near, everyone will be in a festive mood.
It would be easy to meet a Pinay or two.

    Welcome Richard.

I met my wife through a dating site, I wouldn't rule them out. You just need to 'learn the ropes'. Lots of perfectly decent and honest young ladies on them , in between the scammers, prostitutes and ladyboys. :like:

Glad you dropped in; this is a pretty nice place, and between us we can probably offer you half a dozen opinions on any subject to do with the Philippines. When it comes, if it does come, to negotiating your way through British Immigration, you will find us all singing from the same hymnsheet!

Lovely. Yes scootered through SF on my way back from sightseeing.

I think its appeal was that it wasn't so commercialised as some of the wonderful places in the Philippines are. Read just the other day that they want to beef-up the potential of more visitors/tourists to Camotes which makes me somewhat sad.

I can remember spending a day at a local beach resort. Nice place
But during the afternoon it began to fill up a little with white guys. It was mentioned to us that its a weekend event for some folks from Cebu.

Small islands need to find a better way to secure tourist opportunities than the pack-em-in strategy. IMO

Beautiful island, beautiful people. So many paradise islands in the Philippines. Wish I had time enough to visit them all.

I think my wife has her eyes set on a long lazy week in Camiguin Island.
We only managed a couple of days before and promised we'd return.
