Hi, Quick question.. I'm a british citizen and we are just applying for my filipino husband's visa to come and join me in the UK. We got married in the Philippines. We are happy with which visa we need on the gov.uk website and the requirements etc, but unsure exactly what category it comes under on the online application form, which does not seem to tally exactly with the terminology on the website. I'm sure just to complicate things! We think: Visa type - Family visitor Visa sub type - (Family) Long term visit visa (5 years) Any advice would be gratefully received! Thanks
I think it's 'settlement' and then 'married' or something isn't it? Only did it a few weeks ago and forgotten already. I know there was 'settlement' and 'married/marriage' in there somewhere though
John Ash is correct - it is informally known as a 'Spouse Visa', it is a type of 'settlement visa' as opposed to a 'visitor visa'. If in any doubt, just type spouse visa into the link that John Ash has provided... https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk Don't apply for a visitor visa as, by implication, it means there is no intention to settle in the UK.
there is just no family of a settled person option on the online application form, thats what is confusing us thanks for the help.
