I saw Episode 3 of this on Iplayer yesterday and it might be of interest to some people. It follows 3 couples on their various Spouse Visa trials and tribulations.

    Worth a watch.

Saw this last week. It definitely showed the importance of being fully prepared. I can understand how the guy slipped up with his Egyptian wife as I think the UKVI website would have comfortably fooled me if not for the information in this forum. I think it does show an inflexible, non-human and quite ruthless side to UKVI (which we all know about) when she had to go back to Egypt.

I thought all three were disgracefull the most egregious being the child of windrush without the lawers library to check what the rules were in the 80,s there was no way to challenge the desicion disgusting the home office needs dismantling and an accountable independent body put in place to do its job on immigration

Yup! Some of the other stories featured in earlier episodes are scandalous! Children left in limbo due to innocuous omissions by their parents. Mind boggling that this is happening in the UK. You'd have thought that being broadcast on national TV would have expedited some of the cases, but the girl who came from Jamaica aged 12 whose father was lax with paperwork is still in no-mans land.

There are some other stories which do show abuse of the immigration system. The chap from Cameroon who I think came to the UK as a student but then started joining protests against the Cameroon government (encouraged by an immigration advisor) purely to help with an asylum application! And I wasn't convinced by the Scottish guy who insisted there were no capable chefs in the UK to work in his Indian restaurants.
