I know that when people first come to the UK they are often at a loose end. No job, nothing to do and generally may be doing the housework and daily chores while their partner is working. But part of making money is saving it as there is always stuff you can be doing to reduce your costs yet often people don't have the time. E.g. energy switching, getting a better deal on your mobile phone, car insurance quotes, reducing satellite TV costs etc. etc. These things you can give to your partner to look into and not only is it going to save money but also gives tasks for your partner to do during the day giving some self worth. Adding to that the competitions are something that may be hit and miss but if you win you start to see the value in it but also another thing to keep people busy. Which being so far from home for the first time can help with dealing with the distance and being away from family and friends.
